The Nile River Delta
The Nile River delta has helped many people in history. The river dumps into the Mediterranean sea. It's delta is around 100 miles in length and 149 miles of coastline. The Egyptians used the land to farm because the land surrounding the fertile oasis was a desert. Today half of Egypt's population or 40 million people live near the Nile delta. The Nile river runs through these countries,
-Egypt
-Sudan
-Kenya
-Uganda
-Ethiopia
The delta was formed by weathering, erosion, and deposition. Weathering broke down rocks turning them into sediment. This sediment can also be called silt. Then erosion carried the sediment downstream. lastly deposition deposited the eroded sediment down at the mouth of the river, forming the Nile river delta.
